Chemical and Aluminium based deodorants can close pores to control smell and sweat. This is actually a bad thing for your body. Most essential oils will open pores rather than close them. It is better to keep your pores clean of bacteria. One way to help control bacteria is to clean your armpits with an astringent like Tea Tree or Lavender before applying the the deodorant. If you do not mind the mess, apply dead sea mud to your armpits, let dry, and then shower. This will clear out the bacteria for 3 days. It can take up to 2 weeks for your body to adjust to a natural deodorant. Apply twice per day or as needed.
Note: Because we don't use any synthetic chemicals (our deodorants are 100% natural) to keep the consistency the same for many years like many commercially available deodorants do, they will harden after a couple of months after they are first made. If this happens, you can put our deodorant in the microwave (without the lid) for 15-30 seconds and it will soften it up for another couple of months of use.
- Apply lightly (1-2 swipes) to clean, dry, odour-free skin. Since it is made with natural oils, over application can result in staining white or light clothing. Push deodorant up from the bottom and apply as needed. It may crumble a bit for the first one or two applications. This is because the deodorant is hand poured into the containers when it is soft (like soft serve ice cream) and they do not always have a smooth finished top to them. If there is a small swirl on top, you can break it off with your fingers if it is too pointy to use. After the first couple of uses, the deodorant stick will quickly take a rounded shape and be fine. Typical comments from in-store customers we have spoken with are that the deodorant is a bit harder than store brands and some people require two applications per day. Apply twice per day or as needed.
