For over a decade, The Great Canadian Soap Co. has proudly handcrafted every soap we sell right here in Prince Edward Island. In October 2013, during a soap mission to Africa, we discovered the time-honoured tradition of African black soap—a product revered for generations and made using locally sourced ingredients in rural villages.
This past summer, we sourced a small amount of authentic African black soap imported from a Fair Trade Village in Ghana, which supports women and children. Each soap arrives wrapped in cloth, resembling the size of a large football or rugby ball. To make it more convenient for our customers, we gently grate, melt, and hand-pour it into muffin-shaped molds in our soap studio.
Naturally soft and rich in plant-based goodness, this soap is well-loved for its ability to cleanse and nourish both skin and hair, making it a truly versatile natural option.
